5 Retro and Festive Glass Beaded Christmas Garland Patterns

Below are five different glass beaded garland designs with bead counts and links to needed beads. Instructions for the actual assembly of a garland with images, tips and three other garland patterns are linked here: How to String Glass Bead Christmas Garlands

Supplies: Beading Cord, Blown Glass Beads, Hooks, Dresden Stars or Medallions, Scissors

Striped Barrel Multi is a colorful mix of multi-colored striped barrel beads with different sizes of round beads in complimentary colors.

This is the beading pattern to follow:

Start: A B C D

Pattern Repeat: E D C B A E F E A B C D

End: E D C B A

Your garland will begin with START and end with END. String START onto your cord, followed by PATTERN REPEAT 14 times, end with END. Completed length is approximately 67-1/2" which is 5 ft. 7-1/2 in.

This is the bead code:

A = 10mm red GBR10R ~ 30 beads needed

B = 8mm light blue GBR8LB ~ 30 beads needed

C = 10mm gold GBR10G ~ 30 beads needed

D = 8mm pink GBR8PK ~ 30 beads needed

E =6mm purple GBR6RP ~ 43 beads needed

F = Striped Barrels GB059 ~ 14 beads needed (mix stripe colors like our example, or stick with one stripe color)

Retro Barrels & Indents is a combination of classic shaped red, gold, green, and silver beads. This is a great garland to make in other colors as well using the same pattern. Other color options for beads used are linked here: GB014, GB022, 6mm round, 8mm round, 10mm round.

Your garland will begin and end with pattern #1. Follow this sequence: pattern #1 + pattern #2 + pattern #1 + pattern #3. Your garland will have 10 sections of pattern #1, 5 sections of pattern #2, and 4 sections of pattern #3. Completed length is approximately 69" which is 5 ft. 9 in.

This garland seems complex, but as you start stringing, you'll see the design emerge. The full garland will have this pattern sequence: 1-2-1-3-1-2-1-3-1-2-1-3-1-2-1-3-1-2-1

B = 8mm green GBR8GR ~ 20 beads needed

C = Silver + green indent GB022GRS ~ 10 beads needed

D = 8mm gold GBR8G ~ 20 beads needed

E = Silver + gold indent GB022GS ~ 10 beads needed

F = 10mm red GBR10R ~ 10 beads needed

G = Silver + red barrel GB014RS ~ 5 beads needed

Blues and Brown features glossy brown textured beads combined with a retro mix of aqua, silver and gold round beads and silver tubes. This is another great option for customizing with different colored beads. Other color options for the brown beads are linked here: GB080 and GB055.

Your garland will begin and end with pattern #1. String pattern #1 onto your cord, followed by pattern #2 and repeat this sequence, ending in pattern #1. Your garland will have 8 sections of pattern #1 and 7 sections of pattern #2. Completed length is approximately 65" which is 5 ft. 5 in.

Red, Blue and Yellow features a bright and cheerful mix of beads that looks stunning with a variety of decor styles. This is another great pattern for customizing in different colors and other bead color options are linked here: GB000, GB002, GB075, GB004.

Icy Blues features glossy and matte round and faceted beads separated by clear spacer beads. This beauty fits in with a wide variety of decor as well.
